. . . you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses . . . even to the remotest part of the earth.
Apparently Jesus thought the disciples needed supernatural power to witness suitably for Him in the earth. He would be in heaven, but His disciples would remain. They would tell the story of the Kingdom of God, and of Jesus as its Champion.
If I tell people what Jesus said and what mighty things He did, is that being His witness? Am I telling the whole story?
Jesus said to His disciples: Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also . . .
If merely talking about the Gospel of Christ to unbelievers is an adequate witness, what’s with Jesus making all this fuss about power?
