Assuredly, I am saying to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God in the same manner as a little child does, shall absolutely not enter it. Lk 18:17
What is Gospel curriculum for first graders?
That Jesus is Lord of all.
That He forgives your sins utterly.
That He heals your diseases.
That He fills you with His Holy Spirit.
That you have authority to crush all the devil's power.
That God promises for you all that Jesus gained by the shedding of His blood.
That you are His specially selected son or daughter to show and tell this good news the world over.
That He is always present with you in perpetual blessing.
That if you trust Him, He will give you what you ask for.
Does anyone you know, who's graduated first grade Gospel, live like they believe it? Do you?
Seems that so many of us are still standing around feeling unloved, debating whether God heals or not, and looking for His will for our lives. We wonder whether we may confidently use His name to carry out His works. Dare we even presume to act on His behalf?
Must Jesus tell us yet again what He has so emphatically declared by His example, His words, and by the megaphone of the Holy Spirit?
If our thoughts and behaviors don't resemble that first grade Gospel, what then? Are we OK with that? Should we just continue as we are?
Or shall we repent and, at last, believe Jesus' words? Shall we do them?
Let's get back to our first grade lessons. Let's keep it simple, and always be asking, "What did my Teacher say?"
