God has given us the faith and power to call that which is not to surge into being. This word is in our mouth that we may believe, that we may speak. Saying, 'be removed,' to this mountain fits with the command and commission of Him that holds all things together by the word of His power. This assignment is conferred upon us by the One in whom all authority in Heaven and earth resides. We are sent, equipped with Jesus’ name, and directed by His command to speak to disease and strongholds of demons - to obliterate them with a word.
We're privileged to open our mouths and speak release to prisoners, proclaim blessing and prophecy the inheritance, the riches, the destiny and benefits purchased by the blood of the Prince of Life. By the words we speak, those treasures of the everlasting Kingdom break forth visibly, tangibly, into lives of men in a love quake of wonder and salvation.
The word of faith: Power to say come. Power to say go.
What's that, you say? 'That stuff's not for me.' Oh, but it is. It is absolutely our stuff - our esteemed honor to unite with our King in bringing His kingdom. As God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, so Christ is in us doing the same. Can we even grasp what dignity and favor is given us? The Lord, Himself, places His treasures in our hearts, hands and mouths and says, 'Son, Daughter, Declare Me! Present Me! Do Me! I am yours. You are mine. Go joyfully, go boldly.'
Having so rarely seen such faith activity in the Church and in ourselves has convinced us that it has little practical relevance for our lives. We say, 'that was for the saints in the Bible, not us.' But I ask you, aren't the saints in the Bible just like you and me - flawed and immature? Isn't the Bible the book of our present truth? Have Jesus' words, commands and commission been altered? Are the dynamite and presence of the Holy Spirit diminished? Is the disciples'authority over all the power of the enemy now limited?
Dear friends, I'm begging, let's not forfeit the invitation to join with Christus Victor in speaking and doing His deeds of power and goodness. Let us take the place reserved for us and not leave it for someone else. Let's immediately RSVP with, 'yes Lord, we come . . . and we shall come early and stay late.'
For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it?’ But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it.
