Christians wishing to explain the great scope of freedom they enjoy in Christ, use statements by the Apostle Paul like, All things are permissible.
What they overlook is that virtually everything Paul said came from the internal posture of being hid with Christ in God, and for me to live is Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.
They want Paul's permission for unrestrained liberty without his posture of:
He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.
Paul's molten inner core drove him to employ every thought and action of his life to serve the good pleasure of Jesus Christ. Fully aware that All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable he addresses himself as Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ.
Unfettered freedom to adore and serve his savior and King - now, that was Paul’s passion - and our invitation. . .
