If God wanted to He could forgive everyone's sins.
Oh, He did.
If God wanted to He could heal everyone's diseases.
Oh, He did.
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases. Ps 103:2-3
Interesting, even though God forgave the sins of every man and woman for all time, there are many men and women walking around carrying their sin. Does that mean that God didn't make provision for their forgiveness? Does that mean that he doesn’t want or intend to forgive them?
Interesting, even though God healed the sicknesses of every man and woman for all time, there are many people in the world walking around suffering with sicknesses and diseases (which has to do with the entrance of sin into the world). Does that mean that God did not make provision for their healing? Does that mean that He doesn’t want or intend to heal them?
Many wonder, ‘If God is so strong and good, why does He not stop all the sin and sickness in the world?’
They forget to look at the Father’s merciful and costly provision. He came to us as a man - Jesus Christ. That man was, wounded for our transgressions, and by His stripes we were healed.
The Everlasting Father anticipated our suffering and need. He placed the whole of our iniquities and the full measure of our diseases onto Jesus when He bled to death on the cross. And when He rose out of the grave, behold . . . Forgiveness and Healing were fully atoned for. Fully accomplished!
We should recoil from the faintest trace of inference that our Loving Father and Creator is indifferent to His children’s agony. Or, that He has made little effort to rescue us.
