All objections to our abiding in God’s perpetual lovingkindness, each obstacle preventing us from eating our full of the abundance of His house, and every offense that disqualifies us from drinking deeply of the river of His delights, has been lifted off of us and placed on our Savior, Jesus.
Who benefits, who is lifted, who is honored by our refusal to believe, to accept and take to ourselves all that Jesus did to place us in the Father’s heart?
Who is served by our insistence in ‘holding fast’ our objections, obstacles, and offenses when they are no longer ours to hold?
O Believer, do not disqualify yourself. Grant yourself permission, even demand that you embrace His astounding offer to drink from the fountain of life.
Do this for His sake, on His terms, for His delight and your great reward.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house;
And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.
For with You is the fountain of life;
In Your light we see light.
O continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You,
And Your righteousness to the upright in heart. Psalms 36:7-10
