How simple to know God’s will.
Jesus said that He was from God and only said and did what He heard and saw the Father say and do.
He called Himself the Vine, and us, the branches. Apart from Me, He said, you can do nothing.
However, He then said, If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.
As a branch we receive all from the Vine. Severed, we die. United, we thrive.
We enjoy a continuous inflow of everything Jesus is. We know what to expect:
Whatever Jesus said and did and taught is precisely the life being released into us.
We have as well, the words, deeds, and teachings of those who followed whatever Jesus said and did and taught. Now we can be doubly sure.
If our thoughts and inclinations are in concert with whatever Jesus said and did and taught, we have confidence that we are in His will. We can be bold and courageous.
If our thoughts and inclinations are at odds with whatever Jesus said and did and taught, we stop short, question the source, and quickly dismiss them.
The Holy Spirit inside us will not urge us toward something contrary to whatever Jesus said and did and taught. Jesus cannot, will not, give you something He doesn’t have.
Jesus gives you everything He is, and nothing He is not.
Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them. MK 10:15-16
