Here's a question:
How many of the signs and wonders performed by the disciples and those who were baptized in the Holy Spirit in Scripture, have you heard of occurring in the seminaries across our country?
Another question:
Why would we not hear of manifestations of the Kingdom of God occurring at places where they are training students to teach the Bible and to make disciples of other people?
Another:
Would it be so weird to have professors at seminaries lead there students into the market place and teach them, first hand, how to heal diseases, cast out demons, and preach the Gospel?
More questions:
If you were needing surgery in your body, would you go to a professor who does not have a history of performing successful surgery? Or, would you go to a practitioner who has performed hundreds of successful surgeries?
In most every arena of our lives we readily acknowledge a preference to learn from people with actual experience. But when it comes to the things that we say lead to everlasting life, we frequently spend time listening to people who have no track record of having manifested the powers of the age to come.
Still more:
Where are the signs which were to accompany those who follow Jesus? Where are the works that bare witness to a superior, triumphant Kingdom?
Reading the Book is fun. Teaching the Book is profitable. Doing the Book is shunned and despised - much like those disciples before us.
