There’s something about the power and promises of God that demand to be seen, felt, and known (experienced) in our here and now. It deplores admiration of a mere concept apart from its substance.
God calls a liar the man who claims to love Him, but hates his brother. Why? Because, God explains, how can you say you love God whom you haven’t even seen, but hate your brother whom you have seen? It’s a crock! Don’t try that with Me.
God says, “taste and see that the Lord is good.” He who raves about food he’s never tasted, chewed and swallowed is blowing smoke.
God entreats, allures, invites, even commands that His children BELIEVE Him by ACTING His word, not merely studying, teaching or saying how much you love it. How can you say you love the Word of God which you haven’t seen, and not expect and demand its manifestations which verify and affirm that word?
Any honorable chef would distain the compliments of a reviewer who’s never eaten his food - no matter how well he can recite the menu.
God is honored in our seeing and doing His awesome deeds. Bearing much fruit exalts Him. He’s not asking for His children to excuse Him for not doing the mighty works of healing, delivering, and bringing His kingdom to earth.
If the energy spent concocting high sounding explanations for why He doesn’t do the miracles His word promises was focused on applying our hearts to believe and act on His word . . . the Lord Himself would surely show Himself strong on your behalf.
He’s telling us: believe Me, take My promises and do them. Give them away. No one is more convincing than one who’s seen the miraculous hand of the Lord for themselves and for others.
Without timidity or equivocation Jesus declares, ‘You will see the glory of God," and tells us exactly how that will happen - “if you believe.” Don’t wait, excuse, study or procrastinate . . . believe!
Jesus asked, which is easier, to say your sins are forgiven, or 'rise up and walk'?
How can you say you believe your sins are forgiven - which you cannot see - but be so reluctant to believe the easier part: Jesus literally heals bodies and delivers from torment, today?
By His actions Jesus essentially said, 'You know I can do the invisible thing, because you see, feel and know My powerful acts in your present physical world.'
The food actually tastes better than the menu.
