The one Source,
one Father and Creator
of all that exists
by and through
the Eternal Son.

There is one only
wellspring of wisdom
one source of hope
one original of goodness
one perpetual cascade of boundless Joy.

How might I reach for and find this Source?
The Eternal Word
who holds together
all the elements of the universe
by the word of His power,
is a Person.

That singular Savior of every man,
whose name is Jesus
the Anointed One,
has spoken, saying;
I Am
The Way
I Am
The Truth
I Am
The Life.
“No person can come to the Everlasting Father
Except through Me.
Believe in Me,
and you shall never die.”

Every other ‘option’
is lying vanity;
an imposter,
a thief,
a slight of hand.

And now you know.
You now know.
And now know that you know.
When you stand at the throne
of eternity's judgment,
before that Lamb of God,
that awesome,
terrifying Judge
of the living and the dead -
in that moment,
you may forget
what you heard today
and say,

"Oh, I never knew."
"No one bothered to tell me."

'But I extended my hand of mercy
and my loving-kindness.
I pursued you day and night,
every hour of your life.
You heard my earnest beckoning
in the still whispers,
in the smarting stings
of your conscience.
You beheld my beauty
throughout the earth.
You consumed My constant graces
My ceaseless patience,
lavish provisions
and imagined you deserved them.

Who now will pay for and forgive
your pride and arrogant rebellion?
Of your myriad idols,
to which do you appeal
to atone for your countless iniquities
and vile, self-worshiping heart?

Having spurned the One only Redeemer,
you stood as though
you were your own savior,
or worse,
did not need one.
You filled your head
with words of mere men
and fell prey
to the wisdom of this world.
Your soul grew dark,
and your conscience, seared.

How you framed and formed
and hardened your heart
in this vanity of time,
so shall you have petrified it
for the realm of eternity.

You could not - would not - see
that all your learning,
your breathing, moving, creating, producing,
sprung from a life
given to you
before you noticed you existed.

Having chosen yourself
above all things,
you now have and keep
your own way.
You go where you will forever seek

what is impossible to find -
some other way to forgive your sins,
some other means
to absolve and cleanse your soul,
to bring you to
your original home;
the loving heart
of boundless mercy and grace.

Now you have yourself,
to yourself.
Forever you’ll seek
what does not there exist . . .
the One Only Source
of ineffable joy
and Everlasting Life.

That unshakeable, immutable, eternal Word
has spoken directly to you,
is earnestly, tenderly for you
in a holy, severe urgency, calling
by that "Beginning and the End,"
who stands in supreme
"authority over all flesh,
to give eternal life to all
whom the Father has given Him." (John 17:2)

"And this is eternal life,
that they may know You,
the Only true God,
and Jesus Christ
whom You have sent." (John 17:3)
