The anointing that God put upon Jesus Christ by the power of the Spirit remains. Has it ever left him? Do you abide in Him and He in you? Is He at work in you willing and doing all that pleases Him?
Is He in you with that very same anointing? - with all of His power and goodness, His righteousness, wisdom and mercy? Are you not His body? Are you not His interface with the world? Are you not His chance, his opportunity to reveal His loving kindness and saving power in the earth? Are you not His voice, His face and His conveyance of heaven to earth?
Will He not honor that which He declared: If you ask the Father anything in My Name, it will be given, and, you will do the works that I have done? Did he mean all that? Did he mean you? If not, what? If not, who?
For whom did Jesus die on the cross? Whom did He redeem? Whom did He fill with His very Spirit? Was it you, right here, the one listening - the one reading these very words at this very moment, or should He look for someone else?
It is you who’s been assigned and equipped to bring the presence of the everlasting God into the consciousness, the experience of those you encounter. The Lord is literally wearing you. Courageously disclose him in the earth with all of your heart. The world will then see that the excellency of the power is of God, and not of us.
But if we withhold, restrain, how will they see? How will they know? How will they experience the life that we say is so precious to us? There is no special calling for disciples of Christ that supersedes the original. It's still, go, heal, deliver, declare, make disciples - tell of the glories of our King and His Kingdom.
What, literally, was purchased for us in Christ Jesus? What is our inheritance, what is the hope of our calling, what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us, what has been given us via the cross, the resurrection and ascension?
Freely we received. Freely we give.
“I wish Jesus would just jump inside my skin and make me want to serve him.”
“Whoops! I mean, I wish Jesus would jump inside my skin to help me serve him.”
“Whoops! I mean, he already has jumped inside my skin.”
Now what?
