How good it is to know and declare that Jesus is the Captain of our salvation, that He fights our battles and conquers our enemies for us!
Yet, significant advancement in our faith is apparent when we take our place . . .
Along with Abram’s 318:
When Abram heard that his kinsman had been taken captive, he led forth his trained men, born in his house, 318 of them, and went in pursuit as far as Dan . . . and defeated them and pursued them to Hobah . . . and also brought back his kinsman, Lot, with his possessions, and the women and the people. Gen 14:14-16
Along with David’s mighty men, who:
went over to David at the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty and experienced warriors, expert with shield and spear, whose faces were like the faces of lions and who were swift as gazelles upon the mountains . . .the least was a match for a hundred men and the greatest for a thousand. 1 Chr 12
Along with Jesus’ Special Forces, (the 12 and 72) sent out:
And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give. Mt 10:7,8
When we align with such devoted warriors we become, as it were, the very weapons of His warfare. The Lord’s mighty hand and outstretched arm goes forth still in those who wear His Name - who march under His banner. We co-labor with him to clear, to subdue, destroy and displace enemies. We join with Him to advance and establish His kingdom and to magnify His matchless Name in the earth.
Yes, and through it all He leads us in triumph while we serve as joyful soldiers at His charge.
