Are your aspirations realistic?
You're older.
You're weaker.
You're uncertain, confused and adrift.
You're . . . pick your favorite shortcoming.
When you make your mood your master you've forgotten who you are. Then you're subject to counsel that leads to places you don't want to go.
Now it's time to get your head and your heart in the clouds. Get ridiculous! Think about yourself like God thinks about you . . . made alive together with Christ, raised up with Him and seated with Him in the heavenly places. Eph 2:5-6
Recall that with God neither the brevity of one day or the span of 1000 years can thwart His intentions.
Discard assumtions born of perceived limitations of your natural capabilities.
GOD is for you. God IS for you. God is FOR you. God is for YOU!
Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
Quit being the one who stands against you; get out of His way.
Do not let the world, the flesh, or the devil define your capabilities. Let God's Word instruct your mind and heart. Let faith order your steps. Defy your own resignation to the natural order.
Throw yourself into the joy of the Lord, come what may.
Be audacious enough to assert that nothing shall be impossible to him who believes. Faith's lexicon contains no such word as impossible.
Have you forgotten your union with Jesus - the dazzling radiance of God’s splendor, the exact expression of God’s true nature—who holds the universe together and expands it by the mighty power of his spoken word, who this very moment, surges with love, power and purpose inside you?
Now, calibrate your outlook accordingly!
Can you more highly esteem your Savior than to let go of your own self-assessments, however 'realistic' they may seem, in deference to His word, His presence and His promises?
If the world, with its pressures, vanity and hopelessness, serves to expose our profound inadequacy and to press us into full surrender to, and reliance upon the Source of Life, it has rendered its highest service . . . having placed us right smack dab in the middle of our original home; where life and joy begin, and never end.
